Terms of Service

Bread & Butter Works, a product of 29 Innovations LLC ("Bread & Butter Works", "we", "us"), operates an online marketplace that connects people who want to post local jobs ("Posters") with independent workers who choose to apply for and complete those jobs ("Workers"). Bread & Butter Works is a technology platform only. We are not the employer, agent, or representative of any Worker, and we are not a party to the agreement between a Poster and a Worker. Posters and Workers contract directly with each other.

Workers on Bread & Butter Works are independent contractors, not employees of Bread & Butter Works. Workers control how, when, and whether they accept jobs, set their own availability, and use their own tools. Workers are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, licenses, and compliance with local law. See our Independent Contractor Policy.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Bread & Butter Works. You must provide accurate registration information, keep it current, and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may require identity verification at any time.

Bread & Butter Works is 100% free to use. There are no service fees, no subscriptions, and no lead fees. Bread & Butter Works does not process payments or hold funds. Posters and Workers agree on pay upfront and settle directly using whatever method they both prefer. Once the job is done, both sides confirm completion so expectations stay clear.

You may not use Bread & Butter Works to post or solicit anything illegal, dangerous, discriminatory, sexually explicit, or that violates third-party rights. Specifically prohibited: weapons handling, drug-related tasks, work without required licenses (e.g. unlicensed electrical/plumbing), discrimination based on protected categories, harassment, off-platform payment solicitation, and any activity that violates applicable law. We may remove content or suspend accounts at our discretion.

If a dispute arises about a job, either party may contact Bread & Butter Works support within 72 hours of the scheduled completion time. Our team will review evidence from both sides and may, at our discretion, refund the Poster, release funds to the Worker, or split funds. Our decisions are final for purposes of platform balances but do not limit your ability to pursue legal remedies directly against the other party.

We may suspend or terminate any account for violation of these Terms, our Community Standards, or applicable law. You may close your account at any time from the dashboard. Outstanding payment obligations survive termination.

Bread & Butter Works is provided "as is." We do not warrant the quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of any job posting, application, or completed work. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bread & Butter Works's total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the platform is limited to the greater of (a) $100 USD or (b) the total fees we collected from you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Venue for any dispute lies in Riverside County, California.
